Highlights
The
ISI-Snapshot product suite provides
rapid, accurate detection, inventory, warehousing, analysis and reporting
of Windows, Novell, UNIX, and Linux domain, server and application
configuration and utilization data. Optional services include health
checks and periodic reporting.
Relying on our proprietary methodology and
toolset, ISI-Snapshot automates the difficult, time consuming and
error-prone initial steps in performing distributed and open systems
infrastructure planning, management, administration and support
tasks.
ISI-Snapshot is programmed with
Microsoft’s .NET framework version 2.0 and development tools, including
Visual Studio 2005 .NET applications using Microsoft SQL Server 2005. ISI-Snapshot runs from a core database to ensure consistent
functionality.
ISI-Snapshot supports international languages for Windows, UNIX, and
Linux systems to support foreign languages that require double byte
characters, such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
Inventory
ISI-Snapshot provides Host, Storage
Systems, SAN Switches, and Routers/Switches credentialed inventory of
physical and logical assets of the hardware or software. The current
version of ISI-Snapshot supports
the following host operating systems:
- Microsoft
Windows servers: NT, 2000 and 2003
- UNIX and
Linux: HP-UX, HPQ Tru64, IBM AIX, SGI Irix, Red Hat Linux, CentOS
Linux, Sun Solaris, SPARC
- Novell
Netware: versions 4.x, 5.x and 6.x
- Microsoft Windows desktops and workstations: 98, Me, NT,
2000, and XP

Discovery
The ISI-Snapshot Discovery module includes functions that provide the
capability to scan Internet Protocol (IP) Address ranges and attempts to discover
infrastructure objects.
All devices on customer IP networks are discovered
with no security credentials required. Optional SNMP read-only community
strings are utilized. Techniques include:
- SNMP
- RPC Ports (NetBIOS)
- Telnet prompts
- HTTP
- Fingerprinting
- ICMP Echo and

Benefits
Utilizing
ISI-Snapshot, technology architects and managers can rapidly create
accurate, up-to-the-minute inventories of technical infrastructure
configurations; summarize, report, graph and analyze technical infrastructure
configuration and utilization data; provide configuration information to
aid in analysis of performance issues; target sales opportunities;
architect and design potential solutions; provide input to pro-forma
business cases and cost justifications; and produce almost
impossible-to-get management information to establish credibility with
and compel decisions by IT decision makers.
ISI-Snapshot
makes it possible to accurately gather technical infrastructure
configuration and utilization data that historically IT executives cannot
get from their own staff; information that vendors typically have to
invest weeks of manual effort to obtain with results that are often
incomplete and inaccurate. ISI-Snapshot enables technology managers, architects, engineers and
system administrators to change their focus from technical and
operational data gathering and validation to concentrate on analysis,
solution design, business cases and service level management.
Utilization
ISI-Snapshot provides limited performance
monitoring to track and generate Performance Counters in the SnapReports.
